Maple Syrup Time in The Park!

Spring is almost upon us and now is one of my favorite seasons of the year, Maple Syrup Time!!!! As the weather becomes warmer the trees are getting ready to bloom for the season and in order to do that they need to start using their sap for power. Which means that it is time to get that delicious syrup to enjoy. At our home we start the syrup process in late January or February depending on the warming of the season. The beautiful Ohio Black Walnut trees are perfect for us to get that delicious syrup. I always thought that you could only get syrup from Ohio Maple trees but my Ohio Farmers Union President mentioned you can use any type of tree to get syrup. Tapping a tree is so simple and easy you just need simple tools and a bucket and you are on your way. I encourage you to taste and enjoy the bounty of the land with creating your own syrup. I encourage you to come, learn and support the Maple Syrup movement.......

Sage and The Kale Next Door

Kale and Sage are the vegetables that bring up memories of fall, fun and holiday cheer. Sage brings up happy memories of celebrating with family and friends during the Thanksgiving holiday, our family typically uses sage in stuffing, to season the turkey, and in the delicious savory gravy.  Sage has many healing and comforting properties and has been used for centuries by communities across the world. Native people have used sage in healing ways but also in ceremonies as a blessing and purification. Runner Fish Fun and Saving Money Adventures in The Park

  Another day and another dollar or as the saying goes, and in "The Park" the constant search for helping the dollar go longer continues. It's one of my favorite hobbies, and I would go far as to say it's most Ohioans favorite hobby how to save an extra dollar.  If you ask Ohioans, how much you love their new item, of whatever it may be,  they will happily let you know how they were able to get a good deal on it. It is a point of pride, that they were able to save a bit of moolah!  As a counter point as the good Book states in 1 Timothy 6:10 "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil." I'll take that advice, that money shouldn't be the total focus of life.  And that's what I adore about "The Park". The residents, stick together, are resilient, kind and always making adjustments for success.
